Vestas will deliver 80 MW of wind turbines to Germany

Vestas will deliver 40 of its V90 2 MW wind turbines to Nordwind Handels GmbH & Co KG for the eastern part of Germany.

The contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution as well as a 10-year service agreement.

Installation of the wind turbines will start during the fourth quarter of 2010 and the project is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2011.

Nordwind Handels, based in Beiersdorf-Freudenberg, is one of Vestas' largest customers in Germany. Founded in 2003, Nordwind has so far only installed Vestas turbines.

“We are very satisfied with this new contract in Germany, which confirms our positive expectations for the German market. We appreciate the ongoing cooperation with our business partner Nordwind, and we are pleased with their confidence in Vestas' technology,” says Hans Jørn Rieks, President of Vestas Central Europe.
