Scribner delivers fuel cell test stations to Asian automaker

24 November 2009

US-based Scribner Associates has delivered three of its Model 840 Integrated Fuel Cell Test Stations to an unidentified Asian automotive company.

The new Model 840 from Scribner Associates is designed for applications requiring gas flow rates up to 12 slpm, and is intended for use with single cells and short stacks. Its design is based on the proven 850 series of turnkey fuel cell test stations.

The Model 840 uses the Scribner 890e Multi-Range Electronic Load for accurate current measurement over a wide dynamic range. The 840 features dual-range anode and cathode mass flow controllers for wide-range flow measurement and control, auto-water fill and software-controlled wet/dry gas switching, ideal for relative humidity (RH) cycling. Also included are input selector valves, and a 16-channel data acquisition module for additional voltage and temperature measurements.

Available options include internal reformate simulation, stack voltage monitor, and the Scribner 880 Frequency Response Analyzer for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and high-frequency resistance (HFR) measurements.

As with other fuel cell products from Scribner, the Model 840 comes with the powerful and user-friendly FuelCell® application software.
