Pakistan could install 1 GW of wind in 2013

Pakistan could have 12 wind projects totalling 1 GW in the pipeline for installation in 2013, according to media reports.

The Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) has been sited as the source for the news that the 12 projects, representing an investment of US$1.6 billion, are in the pipeline for 2013.

A further 10 wind projects totalling 550 MW are expected to come into operation by mid-2012, according to the Daily Times.
