Parity Solar completes 200 kW BIPV project in China

Parity Solar has completed a 200 kW building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) building project at the New Area Court House complex in Zhenjiang City, China.

By Renewable Energy Focus staff

The solar BIPV system was installed on a curved surface using both crystalline and solar thin-film modules over a skylight area.

The system includes Satcon Solstice inverter technology, said to maximise power yield while allowing mixed technologies and mounting configurations to be managed by a single system.

The solar BIPV system was connected to the grid in late December 2010, in order to meet the Jiangsu 2010 deadline to receive feed in tariff rate of RMB3/kWh.

“China continues to be a promising but challenging market for PV but Parity Solar has invested to create a complete EPC and development team. We are making great progress and are preparing to emerge as a leading systems company in China as the market develops”, says Scott Burton, CEO of Parity Solar.
