Gamesa supplies 258 MW of wind turbines to Brazil

Gamesa will supply 129 wind turbines totalling 258 MW for 9 wind farms in Brazil to be developed by Iberdrola Renovables.

The 2 MW G8X wind turbines will be delivered over 2011 and 2012. Gamesa will transport and erect the wind turbines, perform start-up and cover maintenance over a two year period.

Iberdrola Renovables and partner Neoenergía, a Brazilian energy holding company, won the bid to build 258 MW of installed wind capacity in Brazil's second tender process for the development of renewable energies this month.

Gamesa recently opened a subsidiary in Mercosur in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
