New partner for Irish onshore wind project

Canadian energy producer Finavera Rewables Inc has sold its majority interest for Cloosh Valley Wind Project, County Galway, Ireland, to Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE) .

Finavera Renewables Inc. has sold the majority interest in the grid connection for Ireland’s largest onshore wind farm to SSE for €8.4 million.

As the wind resource at the Cloosh Valley Wind Project is said to be among the strongest in Europe it has a nameplate capacity of up to 105 MW.

The project has also received a Gate 3 Node Assignment from Eirgrid.
