Theni I wind farm ready for connection

16 July 2010

Theni I wind farm in India has seen the installation of its last wind turbine, and is now ready for grid connection, says developer Indian Energy.

The last 8 wind turbines have now been installed, bringing the total to 11, 1.5 MW wind turbines.

The wind farm will be fully commissioned once the interconnection work at the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board substation is finished.

Indian Energy CEO, Rupert Strachwitz, says: “We are delighted to have achieved this important milestone. The Theni I project is on track to be fully commissioned well within the 9 to 12 month time frame we set out when construction started at Theni I in December 2009.”
