Supplements
To keep our readers informed of the differing pace of regional
development, Renewable Energy Focus will run three geographical
supplements next year:
USA - published in June
What are the latest developments in the USA? Will a
federal Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS),
currently in committee, finally be adopted, or will
States' own programs such as the Solar initiative in
California be the main market drivers? This supplement will investigate the way forward for renewable energy in the USA.
EU - published in March
The EU at a high political level has already
pledged to provide 20% of energy needs from
renewable sources by 2020. And a bloc-wide
renewable energy directive is planned for later
in the year. But how can this be translated across individual member states? And will a
support policy of choice start to emerge?
Asia Pacific- published in September
This will look at the possibilities that Asia's
thirst for energy will provide for the
renewables industry, in addition to the
greater need for rural electrification in poor
regions.
Green buildings - published
in November
Making new build carbon free is one of the
greatest opportunities that we have to
increase the take up of renewables, through
technologies such as BIPV and Solar Heat/Cool.
But how can we engage those instrumental to
this process; house builders, architects, and
installers? This is one of the issues that we will
look at in depth in this supplement. As well as
renewable technology evelopments in this area.
